Attendance Policy

School Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 2:05 p.m.
Free Breakfast: 7:35 a.m. - 7:55 a.m.

After 8:00 a.m., your student is late!

Who is Responsible?

School attendance is the direct responsibility of the parents/guardians and the student. All students are expected to attend school regularly and to be on time for classes. Missing all or part of any instruction time could impede a student’s academic progress.

Student Tardies after 8:10 a.m.

Parents are required to park their vehicles and come to the front office to sign in their student, if their student arrives after 8:10 a.m.

Student Absences

It is a state law that students must attend school every day. The parents of students who have excessive absences (10 or more in a semester) will be required to meet with school administration to develop an attendance plan to ensure the child is attending school daily.

***Please note - Excessive absences and/or tardies will require parents to provide proof of residency to verify the student resides in the North Grade K - 8 attendance zone.

Excused Absences

Excused absences require a note from the parent or medical provider. It must include one of the following:

  • Student Illness- If a student is absent for 3 or more days, is continually sick, and/or repeatedly absent from school, he/she/must be under the care of a physician in order for the absence to be excused.
  • Medical Appointments - Note from the medical provider that the child was seen for a medical appointment.
  • Death in the family.
  • Observance of a religious holiday or service that is recognized by all members of the faith.
  • Subpoena from a law enforcement agency or a mandatory court appearance.
